MVS would like to welcome Ashley Willson to our team as our Bay Area Account Executive.
Ashley is a California native with many years of hotel and event experience starting at Marriott in Sonoma. After college she was the Operations Manager for a hotel contracting company sourcing venues and hotels all over the US and Europe then worked as a Production Manager before joining MVS.
Ashley is passionate about the work that we do and thrives in customer relations and putting the pieces of the puzzle together for events. Ashley will be in a hybrid position that includes new business development, client/partner relations, labor coordination and onsite logistics management.
- What do most people not understand about you and your job?
Why the long hours and craziness are all worth it. I love what I do and I could not do what I do only halfheartedly. I thrive off the fast paced, creative problem solving and always being on your toes ready to jump energy that happens onsite. Being on site and seeing the look on the clients’ face and being with them throughout the event makes me happy.
- Everyone at MVS really wants to have Ashley on their show site. Why do you think that is?
I believe that I am viewed onsite as a right hand for both the MVS team as well as the client. I enjoy being the liaison between my staff and the client as well as all of the other vendors onsite. I believe that I help take some of the workload off of their shoulders so that they can focus their time and energy elsewhere. My spreadsheets and memory help keep my team on track and organized as well as bringing a sense of calm to the work environment.
- What is your secret super power?
My photographic memory… The more I can see and be involved in the pre-planning of the event, from the site visits, to the call, to the CAD’s and all of the meeting matrices the better I can plan for what could happen onsite. I was recently referred to as Waldo because I can remember where things are even if I just pass by them.
- How do you know when you have helped make a show successful?
When the clients say “Thank you, we can’t wait to work with you again.” Vendors and clients come and go and in today’s world, I know there is a plethora out there. I am very grateful for the relationships I have built over the years and will always appreciate a thank you.
- What is different about MVS compared to similar companies in the events industry?
MVS cares about the quality of the show and the outcome for their clients and views the client’s success as success for us. MVS is there for the clients from the first site visit to the post-production calls with support and advice on what will work best in the event space and how to do it the most efficient way. As a former client of MVS, I always felt at ease on show sites because of the relationships and trust I had built with the crew. Now, being part of the team, I can see that everyone in the company is the same with every client.
- What is the future of events and how are you going to be a part of it?
The future of events is going to be big! The way that technology is developing, I can only imagine how much we will be able to improve the attendee experience for our clients. I look forward to developing new creative solutions and integrating the top technology trends into our clients’ events.
